Drosophila contains seven insulin-like genes which encode for DILP (Drosophila Insulin-like peptide)1-7. These DILPs can bind to the Drosophila Insulin receptor (DINR) to initiate intracellular signaling.
Input (present at start of reaction)
insulin receptor (DINR) [plasma membrane]
DILP [extracellular region]
Output (present at end of reaction)
DILP:DINR [plasma membrane]
Preceding event(s)
Re-integration of insulin receptor into plasma membrane [Drosophila melanogaster]
Following event(s)
Autophosphorylation of DINR [Drosophila melanogaster]
Organism
Drosophila melanogaster
Cellular compartment
plasma membrane
