Translocation of 55S ribosome by 3 bases in the 3' direction
As inferred from human entities, bovine GFM1 of the GFM1:GTP complex hydrolyzes GTP, yielding GFM1:GDP. The hydrolysis of GTP drives translocation of the ribosome in the 3' direction on the mRNA. The translocation ejects the deacylated tRNA from the P site of the ribosome and shifts the peptidyl-tRNA from the A site to the P site.
