Activated RAC1:GTP and the MAP kinase kinase kinase kinase (MKKKK) orthologue Misshapen (MSN) are involved in phosphorylating and activating the MKK orthologue Hemipterous (HEP). It is likely that a MKKK orthologue, currently unknown, is involved in directly phosphorylating HEP.
