Vimar activates Miro
Vimar, a Drosophila melanogaster orthologue of human RAP1GDS1, is a mitochondrial outer membrane atypical guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates mitochondria-associated atypical RHO GTPase Miro, an orthologue of human RHOT1 and RHOT2. Vimar catalyzes GDP to GTP exchange, resulting in formation of the active Miro:GTP complex (Ding et al. 2016).
