Predicted chicken NLRC5 shows 34% amino acid sequence identity to its human counterpart. Mammalian NLRC5 blocks the CARD-CARD interaction between IPS-1 and RIG-1/MDA5 by specific binding to the CARD domains of RIG-1/ MDA5.
