Chicken CD14 was reported to be involved in chicken TLR4 activation (Kogut et al 2005). It was cloned from chicken bone marrow cell RNA and is expressed in most lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues (Wu Z et al 2009). Its cDNA encodes an open reading frame of 465 amino acids, which shares 31-34% identity to mouse, bovine and human CD14 amino acid sequences.
