As inferred from rat, SREBF1 binds promoter II of the Acetyl-CoA carboxylase 2 gene (ACACB, ACC2) and enhances transcription (Oh et al. 2003). The ACACB gene is transcribed to yield mRNA and the mRNA is translated to yield protein.
