At the Golgi membrane, phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase (TPTE2) aka TPIP dephosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PI(3,4)P2) to produce phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) (Tapparel et al. 2000, Walker et al. 2001). The transmembrane phosphatase TPTE2 gamma isoform colocalises in the Golgi and the endoplasmic reticulum (Tapparel et al. 2000).
