Summation

SLC25A32 protein in the inner mitochondrial membrane mediates the reversible transport of tetrahydrofolate between the cytosol and the mitochondrial matrix. Retention of tetrahydrofolate within the mitochondrial matrix is dependent on mitochondrial polyglutamate addition (Titus and Moran 2000; Chen et al. 1996).
