Expression of the PTCH1 gene is repressed in the absence of Hh signaling by GLI3R (Agren et al, 2004; Lee et al, 2010; Vokes et al, 2007; Vokes et al, 2008). GLI3R may exert its repression activity through the SKI-dependent recruitment of HDACs (Dai et al, 2002).
