PTPRJ (DEP1) protein tyrosine phosphatase dephosphorylates MET tyrosine residue Y1349. As Y1349 is a GAB1 docking site, PTPRJ-mediated dephosphorylation of MET prevents GAB1 binding to MET and activation of MET-initiated GAB1 signaling. PTPRJ can also dephosphorylate MET at Y1365, which is of unknown importance (Palka et al. 2003).
