Based on a mouse study, BHLHE22 (also known as BHLHB5), a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) family of transcription factors, forms a homodimer (Ross et al. 2012). Based on a UniProt alignment, human and mouse BHLHE22 amino acid sequences are 85% identical.
