Binding of Acetylcholine by Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor M3

Intrapancreatic parasympathetic (vagal) nerve endings release acetylcholine during preabsorptive and absorptive phases of feeding. The acetylcholine binds Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor M3 on pancreatic islet beta cells (inferred from experiments with knockout mice).
