Expression of Cryptochrome-2 (Cry2)
The Cryptochrome-2 (Cry2) gene is transcribed to yield mRNA and the mRNA is translated to yield protein. Cry2 protein shows circadian expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and in muscle. Cry2 mRNA shows circadian expression in muscle but not in the SCN. Cry2 expression is dependent on Clock.
