After the cleaved RNA binds Piwil2 (Mili) the 3' end is trimmed by an unknown nuclease to generate a mature piRNA (De Fazio et al. 2011). The resulting Piwil2:piRNA complex can then participate in further cycles of the "ping pong cycle".
