Hoxa2 mRNA is translated to yield Hoxa2 protein (Smith et al. 2009, Hu et al. 2011). Translation of Hoxa2 is repressed by microRNA miR-3960 during osteoblast differentiation (Hu et al. 2011, Donaldson et al. 2012).
