Mt4 binds copper
The metallothionein Mt4 binds 10 atoms of copper(I) (Tio et al. 2004). Mt4 has greater affinity for copper than does Mt1 and Mt4 is therefore considered a "copper-thionein" as opposed to a zinc-thionein (Tio et al. 2004).
