Utrn interacts with a complex purified with an anti-periaxin antibody
Drp2 and L-Prx interact in mouse cells as part of a dystrophin glycoprotein complex (DGC) at the plasma membrane that also includes dystroglycan. Antibodies against L-Prx identify the dystrophin-related protein utrophin (Utrn) as part of the same complex, although L-Prx and Utrn do not interact directly. This suggests a model where alternate DGC complexs with varied dystrophin-family members may interact (Sherman et al, 2001).
