Ebf2 binds Blnc1
Mouse lncRNA named Blnc1 (for Brown fat lncRNA 1) is a nuclear lncRNA that was found to promote mouse brown and beige adipocyte differentiation and function. Blnc1 lncRNA forms a complex with the transcription factor Ebf2 in mouse adipocytes and stimulates Ebf2-mediated activation of thermogenic genes, such as Ucp1. Blnc1 lncRNA gene also possesses an Ebf-binding site in its promoter, and its expression is positively regulated by Ebf2, thus creating a positive feedback loop (Zhao et al. 2014). Hnrnpu (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U) facilitates the interaction between Blnc1 lncRNA and Ebf2 in mouse adipocytes by directly participating in the formation of the Ebf2 ribonucleoprotein complex (Mi et al. 2017).
