Similar to thiamine or pterine biosynthesis, the sulfide carrier protein CysO serves as substrate to the pyridoxal phosphate-dependent, dimeric CysM which transfers O-phosphoserine onto the sulfur (OLeary et al, 2008; Agren et al, 2008).
