Persulfide sulfur is transferred onto sulfite

The main reaction catalyzed by rhodanase is not the name-giving detoxification of cyanide to thiocyanate, but the transfer of a sulfur atom from Sqr-S-SH onto sulfite yielding thiosulfate during sulfide oxidation (Hildebrandt & Grieshaber, 2008).
