In dorsoventral patterning in the embryo, Dorsal (DL) homodimers in complex with the NF-kappaB inhibitor orthologue, Cactus (CACT), bind to the adaptor proteins Tube (TUB) and phosphorylated Pelle (PLL) in the receptor 'signalling complex' at the plasma membrane.
