CREM, a complement regulatory protein in chicken, consists of 5 short consensus repeats (SCRs).This is a non-mammalian membrane-anchored C regulatory protein similar to MCP and DAF. CREM protected host cells from chicken complement-mediated cytolysis (Oshiumi H et al. 2005).
