Cytosolic serine hydroxymethyltransferase catalyzes the reversible reaction of 5,10-methyleneTHF polyglutamate and glycine to form tetrahydrofolate polyglutamate (THF polyglutamate) and serine. The active form of the enzyme is a tetramer (Renwick et al. 1998).
