Binding of GOPC (also known as CAL, PIST or FIG) to CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) promotes translocation of GOPC:CFTR complex to lysosomes, which is followed by lysosomal degradation of CFTR (Cheng et al. 2005).
