Tetrameric sorbitol dehydrogenase (SORD tetramer) catalyzes the NAD-dependent oxidation of xylitol to form D-xylulose (Alvarez et al. 1993; Karlsson et al. 1989; Maret & Auld 1988; Pauly et al. 2003).
