Highly active BRAF mutants show constitutive phosphorylation of MAPKs that does not depend on RAS activation or RAF dimerization (Davies et al, 2002; Wan et al, 2004; Garnett et al, 2005; reveiwed in Lavoie and Therrien, 2015).
