ARAP1 is implicated in the endocytosis of EGFR, as the complex formation betwen ARAP1 and CIN85 inhibits CBL-mediated targeting of EGFR to the early endosome/lysosome pathway (Yoon et al. 2011). PTK6 phosphorylates ARAP1 on tyrosine residue Y231, resulting in the inhibition of EGFR endocytosis and, hence, prolonged EGFR signaling (Kang et al. 2010).
