Activation of FGFR signaling downstream of FGFR3 fusions likely involves receptor-mediated phosphorylation of FRS2 as in the WT pathway, although this hasn't been conclusively demonstrated in all cases (reviewed in Parker et al, 2014; Carter et al, 2015).
