Recruitment of CRK or related CRKL to MET-phosphorylated GAB1 results in increased level of activated RAC1 (RAC1:GTP), a necessary step in HGF-induced cell motility (Lamorte et al. 2002, Watanabe et al. 2006). DOCK7 was recently implicated as a RAC1 guanyl nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) recruited to activated MET receptor via GAB1. Binding of DOCK7 to GAB1-bound CRK or CRKL was proposed but has not been examined (Murray et al. 2014).
