Based on studies in mice, FOXO6 directly stimulates transcription of the semaphorin SEMA3A co-receptor PLXNA4 (Plexin A4). Defects in migration of the radial glia during cortical development observed in Foxo6 knockout mice can be restored by ectopic overexpression of Plxna4 (Paap et al. 2016).
