The adaptor protein FRS2 binds activated ALK as assessed with studies using full-length wild-type ALK as well as the NPM1-ALK fusion (Degoutin et al, 2007; Chikamori et al, 2007). Recruitment and activation of FRS2 does not depend on the juxtamembrane domain or any of the identified phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) NXXpY sites of ALK, and the binding site remains to be determined (Chikamori et al, 2007; Degoutin et al, 2007).
