Cytosolic, dimeric dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR dimer) catalyzes the reduction of folate (FOLA) to dihydrofolate (DHF) (Chen et al. 1984). Crystal structures of DHFR bound to its substrate folate reveal it functions as a homodimer (Davies et al. 1990).
