Cleavage of Nodal proprotein
Nodal proprotein can be cleaved extracellularly by either Furin or Pace4 (Constam and Robertson 1999, Beck et al. 2002). In cells cultured in vitro the Nodal co-receptor Cripto-1 recruits both Nodal proprotein and Furin or Pace4 to the cell surface (Blanchet et al. 2008).
