Atg5:Atg12 binds Atg16l1
Atg5 interacts with the small coiled?coil protein Atg16L1. The resulting Atg12-Atg5-Atg16L1 complex multimerizes through the oligomerization of Atg16l1 (Mizushima et al. 1999, 2003). The molecular weight of this multimeric complex suggests that it probably represents a tetramer of Atg12-Atg5-Atg16l1 (Kuma et al. 2002).
