Gdpd5 hydrolyzes GPCho
Mouse enzyme Gdpd5 (Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain-containing protein 5; Gde2) catalyzes the hydrolysis of GPCho (glycero-3-phosphocholine) to G3P (glycerol-3-phosphate) and Cho (choline). The protein co-localizes with endoplasmic reticulum marker proteins (Gallazzini et al. 2008).
