Mecp2 is phosphorylated at S421
Mouse calmodulin-activated kinase CaMK IV, and possibly CaMK II, phosphorylates mouse Mecp2 on serine residue S421, increasing the affinity of Mecp2 for chromatin (Zhou et al. 2006, Tao et al. 2009.
