Recruitment of Atr Kinase to Unsynapsed Regions
Unsynapsed regions of chromosomes accumulate Brca1, the kinase Atr, and the phosphorylated histone gammaH2AX (Keegan et al. 1996, Turner et al. 2004, Bellani et al. 2005, Mahadevaiah et al. 2008). The recruitment of Atr depends on Brca1 (Turner et al. 2004).
