Foxo3 binds Cat gene promoter

In mouse granulosa cells (Song et al. 2016), as well as microglial cells (Rangarajan et al. 2015), endogenous Foxo3 binds the endogenous Cat gene promoter, encoding catalase. Foxo3-mediated upregulation of Cat gene transcription is positively regulated by Sirt3, a histone deacetylase which deacetylates Foxo3 in response to oxidative stress and increases nuclear localization of Foxo3 (Rangarajan et al. 2015).
