Expression of Dmrt1 in testis differentiation
The Dmrt1 gene is transcribed to yield mRNA and the mRNA is translated to yield Dmrt1 protein (Lei and Heckert 2004, Manuylov et al. 2011, Barrionuevo et al. 2016). Sox9 and Gata4 bind the promoter of the Dmrt1 gene and activate transcription of Dmrt1 (Lei and Heckert 2004, Manuylov et al. 2011, Barrionuevo et al. 2016).
