Alx3 binds the Mitf gene
Alx3 binds to conserved elements in the promoter of the Mitf gene to represses transcription, as assessed by EMSA, ChIP and reporter gene assays carried out in mouse. Mutation of the identified binding sites abrogates the repressive activity of Alx3 (Mallarino et al, 2016).
